About BirdView

Strategy is not the meeting. It is what happens next.

BirdView Consulting Inc. is a 100% Indigenous-owned advisory firm based in Prince Albert and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We work alongside First Nations leadership and administration on the part that is hardest to hold — the distance between a decision and its result.

The practice is principal-led. Conrad Bird, Principal and CEO, is directly involved in the conversations that matter, so leadership is never handed down to an account manager and context is never lost between meetings.

Our work concentrates on three things: direction leadership can stand behind, administration able to carry it, and a clear view of what is actually moving. When a Nation wants that view held in one connected place, we introduce Eyrie.

Core Services

Three ways we support the work

Each engagement stands on its own. Each one also answers the same question: how does the work keep moving once the meeting ends?

  • Strategic Planning & Leadership Alignment

Clear direction that Chief and Council, senior administration, and departments can all stand behind.

    • Leadership and Council planning sessions
    • Strategic plan development and renewal
    • Priority setting and sequencing
    • Department alignment to Nation priorities
    • Governance and planning support

    Where Eyrie fits

Once priorities are set, Eyrie gives leadership and administration one place to hold them, attach responsibility, and follow progress between meetings.

  • Band Administration & Operational Strategy

Practical structure, clearer responsibility, and follow-through that holds across departments.

    • Organizational and operational review
    • Roles, responsibility, and accountability structure
    • Process and workflow clarity
    • Reporting and information flow
    • Administrative capacity support

    Where Eyrie fits

Eyrie carries that structure into daily practice — decisions, owners, department updates, and reporting items sitting in one connected operating environment.

  • Eyrie Executive Briefings & Readiness

A direct, executive-level look at Eyrie and an honest discussion of what adopting it would ask of your Nation.

    • Executive briefing for leadership and senior administration
    • Guided walkthrough of the portal
    • Readiness and fit discussion
    • Questions and considerations to take to Council
    • Next-step planning

    Where Eyrie fits

This service is the Eyrie conversation itself. BirdView is an authorized Eyrie sales representative serving First Nations in Canada, and Conrad leads these briefings directly.

Where all three lead

Strategy, administration, and readiness meet at the same practical need — one connected view of priorities, decisions, responsibilities, and progress. That is the conversation Eyrie is built for.

Eyrie

One connected view of how the Nation is running.

Eyrie is a First Nation Band Management Portal designed to support governance, administration, and reporting in a more connected operating environment.

Leadership rarely lacks information. What is missing is one place where priorities, decisions, responsibilities, and reporting sit together and stay current.

Executive briefings are arranged for First Nations leadership and senior administration. BirdView will confirm fit before scheduling.

An Eyrie screen for choosing a role or delegation, listing a primary role and a temporary delegated role alongside the permissions and scope attached to each.
Roles and delegationWho is acting, in what capacity, and for how long.
An Eyrie notification centre listing items that require action, each showing a priority level, the department it came from, why it was assigned, and when it expires.
What needs a decisionItems requiring action, sorted by priority and source.
An Eyrie profile screen showing account details, sign-in settings, active sessions, notification preferences, and accessibility options.

Illustrative Eyrie interface using synthetic data. Screens show a demonstration environment; no real Nation, person, or record appears.

What leadership can see

  • Leadership Priorities

Nation priorities held in one place, so leadership and administration work from the same list.

  • Open Decisions

Council and executive decisions stay visible after the meeting, with responsibility attached.

  • Department Updates

Departments report progress into a shared picture rather than scattered threads and side conversations.

  • Responsibility & Ownership

Every priority, decision, and update carries a named owner.

  • Reporting Items

Reporting obligations are carried as tracked work, not recalled at the deadline.

  • A Shared Operating Picture

Leadership, administration, and departments look at the same view of what is moving.

Our Approach

Four steps, in order, every time

The sequence matters. Skipping ahead is how plans end up on a shelf and departments end up working from different versions of the same priority.

  1. Listen

We start with leadership, administration, and the people carrying the work. Context before recommendations.

  2. Align

We surface where direction already agrees and where it quietly does not, and bring leadership to one shared set of priorities.

  3. Map

We turn priorities into structure — sequence, ownership, and what reporting will need to show.

  4. Advance

We stay with the work as it moves, so progress remains visible long after the meeting ends.
